Developer Andrew Wilk tweeted images of what looks like the early stages of dark mode on iOS 10 running via the similar in Xcode.

However, it is pretty clear that the feature is still in its early development stages and that we probably won’t be seeing it for at least a few more betas.

A dark mode for iOS has not been officially announced. However, the company did announce such a mode for tvOS during WWDC, but has a very specific reason for it.

While users love the bright and fresh Apple TV interface, some may prefer a darker background to fit a home theater environment or darker rooms, so now users can select a dark background for Apple TV.

The community has had mixed opinions about bringing a dark mode to iOS. Some say they want it to help at night, while others want it because it looks good.
