Apple’s New MacBook Pro Does Not Feature A Dedicated Power Button, Here’s How You Turn It On Off

Today Apple has updated its MacBook Pro line with all new 13 and 15-inch models with Touch Bar and Touch ID which replace the function key rows.

According to Apple, the Touch Bar is meant to replace the function keys “that have long occupied the top of your keyboard with something much more versatile and capable.” However, without a physical Power button, how on earth do you turn the thing on?

Well, according to The Verge’s Dieter Bohn, the new MacBook Pro automatically turns on when you open the lid, and when you want to power it down, simply hold down the Touch ID button found on the rightmost side of the Touch Bar.

In essence, the Touch ID button is the new Power button.
