A Day Before Apple’s ‘Hello Again’ Event, It Delays AirPods Beyond ‘Late October’ Release

If you’ve been looking forward to the upcoming AirPods that Apple said would be coming in ‘late October’, be prepared to be disappointed. In a statement sent to TechCrunch, Apple says they need ‘a little more time’ before AirPods will be available.

“The early response to AirPods has been incredible. We don’t believe in shipping a product before it’s ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers,” an Apple spokesperson said to TechCrunch.

The AirPods were originally announced back in September alongside the iPhone 7. It has a retail price of $159 and includes Apple’s W1 chip that allows for easy pairing. The Bluetooth earbuds were slated for a ‘late October’ release with many thinking they’d go on sale as soon as tomorrow or Friday (with Monday being the latest), given the ‘late October’ promise.

Unfortunately, beyond this Apple has yet to give us a date on when they’ll become available. We assume they’ll be available in a few weeks in November.
