According to job listings on its website, Apple is on a hiring spree. Earlier today, a job listing was found that was searching for someone to help bring Siri over to Mac OS X. Once again, the company has posted job listings, this time looking for someone new to help with Apple’s disastrous iOS Maps application.
Apple’s Maps application has been the source of lots of criticism since its launch with the iPhone 5 back in September.
Although the application was highly anticipated as being Apple’s answer to Google Maps, the Cupertino company’s creation fell far short of most expectations, and many were excited when Google released it’s own Google Maps app for iPhone. It looks as if Apple is searching for some new staff who can help improve the service.
There are 10 job listings on Apple’s site for new employees in the Maps department. The listings mainly contain the following:
“The iOS Maps team is looking for a proactive and hardworking software engineer to join our team. The Maps application is used by millions of customers and it’s the best mapping program on any mobile platform. Our team is also responsible for MapKit, the iOS framework that displays maps which is used by countless applications on the App Store.”
If you’re interested in joining Apple’s team (and making everyone happier with a better Maps app) head on over to Apple’s job listings page for more information.
