The most tempting iPhone alternative? Samsung Galaxy Note II, according to TiP readers [POLL Results]

Earlier in the week, we opened up a poll to our iPhone-loving readers to find out which other device they had an interest in. Or, if there was no iPhone, which they would have. First choice, by a long way, was the Samsung Galaxy Note II. Samsung’s massive industry-leading “phablet” hosts a ton of impressive features and specs, chief of which is the awesome S-Pen. In second and third place with 19.5% and 17% respectively were the Nexus 4 by LG and Nokia’s Lumia 920. Behind the top three is a substantial gap then in 4th, joint 5th and 7th were the Droid DNA (6.8%), One X+ (5.7%), Windows Phone 8X (5.7%) and the DROID RAZR MAXX HD (5.32%).

What surprised me was the lack of interest in HTC’s devices. Despite having some of the best hardware available, and arguably the best displays on the market, people just aren’t keen on the Taiwan-based company’s products.

Really?  No S3?  This is like asking an Android owner which iPhone tempts him/her the most without including the iPhone 5.

@TodaysiPhone I traded my 64gb LTE iPhone for a galaxy note 2. It’s like the hummer of cell phones lol. It’s BOSS!

I can’t put my G-Note 2 down…that’s for sure. Love it. I can’t even imagine what the G-Note 3 is going to look like and feature.

@BrainRoopull I imagine that since it’s been out for awhile, people who wanted it have it already. They don’t need a poll to get a sense for S3 demand and consideration. Plus, carriers are starting to offer deep discounts and soon to be “free” S3′s. The S3 is 6 months old in the States.

@lean6rtj2  yeah too bad dna has crap storage and battery

@whoknowswhereor They simply must reach a point during R&D where they’re saying “screw it, box it up!” Something like cost must be driving these decisions to forego SD expansion slot and to opt for inferior battery life in devices. We’re talking about showstopper factors here. Same thing happened when i was poised to get on the One X bandwagon at launch last June. They must know something about consumer behavior that we consumers don’t know. By the way, this post brought to you by Swype and the S-pen. Lol.

I have an iPhone 5 as personal phone and the Lumia 920 as a work phone. I love the Lumia 920 as far as screen, camera, Performance, home screen and etc. I really love battery life too. The Galaxy Note 2 is handy. But I always have had issues with my android phones slowing down. Even my nexus 7 did. I work for AT&T so I try them all out when they come out and these two devices are in my opinion the best.
