About three weeks since the last tvOS 10.1.1 beta, Apple has today seeded its second tvOS 10.1.1 beta to developers.
Being a point release, we don’t expect any major updates to the operating system, if any. This beta will likely focus mainly on bug fixes and stability improvements. Though, since it’s only been a few days since the tvOS 10.1 there must be a major bug in the operating system they’re wanting to test and fix.
However, to proceed: head to Apple’s Developer portal and download the necessary profile to your Mac or PC. Plug the device in via the USB-C port on the back of your Apple TV and fire up iTunes.
From there, tap Option (Mac) / Shift (Windows) + Update and select the profile. Once completed, head over to your Apple TV’s settings > system > Software Update. If it does not appear, reboot your Apple TV and it should prompt you to update.
