With the AirPods being delayed, the BeatsX in-ear Bluetooth headphones are also being delayed, according to an email from B&H.
Apple’s site still lists ‘coming this Fall’ for the BeatsX headphones but Fall officially ends on December 20, giving the company less than a week to meet the deadline. However, the B&H email says that they won’t ship for another 2-3 months.
If you visit the Beats by Dre website, it promises a late 2016 release date. While that gives the company a bit more time, it’s not within the 2-3 month range.
MacRumors obtained the email from a customer who had a pre-order.
This email is being sent in regards to your order for 1 of the Beats by Dr. Dre BeatsX In-Ear Headphones (Black).
We regret to inform you that the manufacturer has informed us that they still do not know when they will begin shipping this item but they do know that it will take at least 2-3 months. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this delay has caused you.
With both the BeatsX and AirPods being delayed, it’s possible that these have a design flaw rather than a manufacturing problem. Though, it could go either way because they both offer the W1 chip which could be the major reason behind the delay.
