Ever since the iPhone 5s was announced and Touch ID was made official, people have been questioning whether the new technology will be making its way onto any additional devices like the iPad.
Recently, rumors have been swirling around about new colors for iPad 5, but until now there was no evidence that Apple would be putting its new fingerprint sensor into the famous tablet.
The video embedded above shows the components of the rumored iPad 5 being taken apart, and it compares the home button area to that of the brand new iPhone 5s. The tear down shows that the iPad 5 has room underneath the home button cut out to fit the new Touch ID sensor.
The hole actually does not fit with the original home button, meaning that it is very likely that there will be a change in store, and that means that it will probably be the new Touch ID technology.
While this is clearly not for certain, it is looking more and more likely that Apple’s next full sized tablet will include iPad mini-like styling, and a Touch ID home button. Hopefully it won’t be long before we find out, as Apple is rumored to be holding an iPad event on October 15th, where we will likely put all rumors to rest.
