Sources in contact with Reuters have told the news site that Apple have been holding talks with EPIX with regards to streaming films from the company. EPIX is a company set up by massive film companies Lions Gate, MGM and Paramount Pictures.

According to the information, such would affect Apple’s current set-top box service Apple TV, and Apple’s own television set device that is rumored for release in the near future. This deal could grab Apple exclusive rights to films like ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ and ‘Rango’.

Now EPIX currently have a solid deal with Netflix, that’s due to run its course in September. That could prove to be an opportune time for Apple to jump in and net themselves a healthy slice of the film streaming market, which is growing faster than ever.
