Apple’s first retail store in Turkey is set to open on April 5th and the wraps have been taken off the design to reveal some absolutely beautiful architectural design (as we have come to expect from Apple Stores).
As you can see from the image above, the store includes a huge glass box made from just 4 huge panes of glass, not too dissimilar in looks to the company’s flagship Fifth Avenue store in New York, with a white roof emblazoned with the Apple logo. It looks incredible, although there seems to be no entrance to the store through the plaza and instead customers must enter through the Zorlu Center mall.
The store itself is compact and split over two levels under the plaza seen above. The plaza itself is surrounded by a unique water feature constructed from black stone, with water pumped over the fountain edges to create an “infinity” effect.
Apple CEO Tim Cook and the Turkish president are rumored to be attending the store’s grand opening tomorrow. You can view a ton more pictures of the store here!
What do you think of Apple’s new store design? I, for one, wish they’d bring some of this magic to the UK!
Update: MacRumors has posted the picture below from the official grand opening invite from Apple while confirming that Turkish President Abdullah Gül and Tim Cook will not be attending on opening day.
