Apple has today posted job listings on its website, advertising posts for Manufacturing Design Engineers at its plant in Mesa, Arizona.
The the listing seeks employees who can “provide end to end manufacturing and process solutions for key design features” for the iPhone and the iPod. It had previously been stated that Apple’s plant might be related to the production of Sapphire glass. The job listing specifically relates to equipment development and process creation for the finishing of surfaces and processing glass, as well as the automation of device production and CNC machining. The posting also carries responsibilities of correspondence with Apple’s design teams and partners.
Apple currently has several key employment positions open at its Mesa plant in Arizona, and the variety of listings available may well suggest that Apple’s new plant will be host to a whole range of iPhone and iPod components.
