Apple makes some of the most beautiful devices, crafted from high quality materials and manufactured with precision. It’s only natural that you want your accessories to match that level of quality. Accessory maker Miniot tries to do just that and has announced its new wooden cover for iPad mini.
If you’re into slapping some wood onto your glass and aluminium iOS devices, which many people seem to be these days, then the Miniot iPad cover could be perfect for you.
Made from your choice of high-quality wood – Walnut, Mahogany, Cherry, Wenge or Lauro Faia – and an internal lining of your choice, the cover operates much like Apple’s own Smart Covers. The wood is sourced from well-managed forests according to Miniot, so you can buy responsibly, and each cover is manufactured out of a single piece of wood in the Netherlands.
The cover attaches to your iPad mini (or new Retina iPad mini) using the magnets along the device’s side with the internal lining resting on the device’s screen. The slats in the cover allow for it to be peeled back and rolled into a stand in a similar fashion to Apple’s own covers, allowing for typing or movie viewing. The Miniot cover also incorporates magnets to wake up or put the iPad to sleep when the cover is opened or closed.
Miniot’s customizable wooden cover is available now for $79/€59 with engraving thrown in for free too. Check out their website for more information.
