Comcast plans live mobile streaming over mobile

Comcast has announced its plans to debut live mobile streaming of 35 channels via its Xfinity app for iOS.

The plans incorporates 35 channels, including BBC World News, CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, FOX Business Channel, and FOX News Channel, FOX Sports 1, Golf Channel, NBC Sports Network, Pac-12 Networks, Big Ten Network, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU,  Disney Channel, Disney Junior and FX.

Some of these channels already live stream through their own apps. Now, comcast plans to allow Xfinity customers to watch up to 35 live channels over Wi-Fi. Xfinity already allows users to watch on demand content. Research shows that an overwhelming majority of cable customers prefer their streaming under the roof of one single app, by bringing together the streaming of 35 channels into one place Comcast aims to become the most prominent streaming app on the market.

The Comcast Xfinity app will be renamed Xfinity TV Go to mark the switch the live content streaming.
