Apple’s lauded “Spaceship” campus has been approved by the Planning Commission of Cupertino, bringing the project one step closer to reality.
Apple presented the Commission with a presentation on Tuesday, and the Commission confirmed its approval late last night. Having passed this stage, the vote will now be put to the Cupertino city council on October 15, followed by a further vote on November 19. As it stands, Apple is still on course for a 2016 deadline.
The plans were originally announced in Jobs final public appearance before his death in June of 2011, however it has suffered setbacks, and is reportedly $2 billion over budget. Thankfully, Apple isn’t really short of cash right now, so its looks like the Spaceship Campus is still very much a reality!
