Last week we read a report stating that Tim Cook was looking in to ways to boost iPhone sales in its retail stores. As much has just been confirmed by 9to5Mac. The site reports that Apple has officially reached out to its retail sales team to conjure up some ideas to help boost sales of the iPhone. It’s not the first time it’s been done, and it sounds like a fantastic motivational tool in itself. Giving the staff the opportunity to show their skills and give them ownership over a sales strategy will surely empower them.
It’ll be interesting to see if the program has a positive effect on iPhone sales. With the next iPhone just around the corner, it’s clear that with some inventory left over and a couple of months left to go, Apple needs to increase interest in the iPhone 5.
