iPhone accounted for 51% of Verizon smartphone sales in Q2

It has emerged today that the iPhone was responsible for over half of Verizon’s smartphone sales in Q2.

According to Fran Shammo, Verizon’s Chief Financial Officer, Verizon sold 3.8 million iPhones, representing 51% of its total smartphone sales. The figures represent a slight drop over its first quarter postings, where it sold 4.1 million devices.


Overall, Verizon’s profits are up 21%, with 1 million new customers and 7.5 million activations.
