Turn your iPhone into a 3D camera with Poppy

This is one of the neatest Kickstarters I have seen in a while. Remember those little view finder things that you would look through and it would make a picture look 3D? Well, imagine being able to make your own with your iPhone. That’s the gist of what Poppy does. But don’t just take pictures, you can also record videos using this and have your own homemade 3D video. Sounds like an awesome idea, right? I thought so too. It works with iPhone 4/4S, iPhone 5, and iPod touch 5. The way it works is the mirror set up on the front of the viewfinder, that splits the camera views so that your left and right eye see slightly different angles, creating a 3D effect. Something else that is pointed out is that if you remember back in 2009, YouTube added the ability to show 3D video; Poppy works with YouTube’s 3D function, and you can also watch 3D content from YouTube through Poppy. An application for Poppy specific content creation is also in the works. Check out the video above, and learn more here: Poppy.

What do you think? Are you interested in this sort of accessory? Wonder where you can get one? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
