You all have heard of Square, right? The mobile payment company started by the same guy that started Twitter, Jack Dorsey? Yes, that company. Well maybe you’ve also heard of the Square Wallet application that it has in the App Store. If not, it basically is what it says, a wallet. It can connect to places that you have been to before, tell retailers or restaurants or other businesses when you are in their store, and you can buy something without ever taking your phone or wallet out of your pocket. Pretty darn cool. Well, the application has now added to ability to send receipts to friends (only for US customers at the moment). Here is the change log from iTunes:
What’s New in Version 2.5.1
- Did you know you can send a Square gift card to a friend in less than 60 seconds? Check out the new tutorial when you launch the app.
- Sending a gift card is easier than ever: now you can send one from your receipt. Next time you discover an amazing local business, share it with a friend by sending a gift card.
- Bug fixes and performance improvements.
The service streamlines the sending of gift cards by allowing you to send them straight from the receipt that you get when you purchase something. I really hope Square keeps up this growth, as I find it to be a really awesome idea and service.
