Report: Facebook Messenger to get new “Blast” group chat feature

facebookblastFacebook Messenger (and Facebook’s software in general) has been in the news a lot recently. With the new Facebook 6.0 update for iOS, which brought a redesigned iPad interface and chat heads (in-app, not anywhere like Android’s version), came a revamped messenger experience. Well, it seems that this is n0t over. According to a report out of iMore, Facebook Messenger will be getting a new “Blast” feature, which allows you to send one message out to a number of people at the same time. If you are thinking “But you can already do that?” it’s because you are thinking of the group chat feature where anyone can reply and it all ends up in the same thread. This new feature would allow you to send the same message to multiple people and start individual threads with each of those people. This can save you a lot of time if you were planning on going through and sending the same message to a bunch of people. No word on when this will see release.

What do you think? Want this feature? Looking forward to it? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.

This feature will definitely be beneficial fore personal and business uses. My only fear is that party promoters will abuse it
