FreedomPop expands to Sprint’s 3G network: now offering nationwide coverage

FreedomPop has today announced its plans to expand its service to Sprint’s 3G network, guaranteeing nationwide US coverage.

In a statement, FreedomPop CEO Stephen Stokols said:

The biggest criticism with our service to date has been the coverage gaps in certain parts of the country… Starting today, FreedomPop users can connect to the Internet across the entire nation leaving no reason to continue paying high monthly Internet bills for Internet from large, expensive carriers.

This awesome new rollout now means that FreedomPop now covers the entire US. That means that the FreedomPop Overdrive Pro, the companies 3G/4G hotspot is now available for preorder. Granted, FreedomPop’s service doesn’t have full LTE coverage yet, however Stokols announced plans to roll-out nationwide coverage by the end of this year, which could even see it surpass some of the countries’ biggest carriers. The Overdrive Pro can provide an internet connection for 5 devices at any one time, offering speeds of 8mbps. It comes with a free 500Mb data plan, and the option to upgrade to 2GB or 4GB plans up to 50% cheaper than major carriers.
