Chinese site offering pirated iOS apps without needing a jailbreak

13.04.19-KuaiYong-2A report was published late last night over at M.I.C Gadget detailing news of an online portal offering access to unofficial, pirated copies of App Store apps. 7659.com offers Chinese users an easy and convenient way to download apps without paying a penny by hooking up with an existing desktop software program called KuaiYong. The service itself promotes itself as a means for bulk authorization, when in fact, it’s simply a way to get apps without paying for them.

What it actually does is make use of Apple’s own enterprise distribution system, which – as noted by AppleInsider – “is intended to be used by corporations and institutions for the dissemination of internal apps to staff.”

So they’ve found a loophole which allows them to exploit a service that Apple supplies to larger companies. I’m sure it won’t take long for Cupertino’s sleuths to notice. In fact, they probably already have – meaning it will most likely be shut down soon.
