It’s the end of another week here at TiP we’ve had a lot to talk about this week. Thankfully, a good variety to digest. From iPhone 6 concepts to my jailbreak setup, an Anostyle for iPhone 5 review, iPhone 5S release date rumors and a comparison of maps apps. As always, this is a list of the top 5 most popular stories this week. (Headlines are links to the original articles.)
1. Awesome iPhone 6 and 4.8-inch “iPhone Plus” concepts designed – wider displays, and no Home Button anywhere
An awesome iPhone 6 concept showed up during the week, posing next to an equally fantastic render of the – as yet mythical – “iPhone Plus”. The design featured a display with a much wider aspect ratio similar to the pre-iPhone 5 models, but on a bigger scale. There was also a clear lack of a Home Button giving it a much more sleek and minimal appearance.
Kyle got his Anostyle’d iPhone 5 back this week, and took a bunch of photographs to compare and contrast the “before and after” look. It’s red and it’s making me rather jealous. Seriously worth checking out.
This story only showed up yesterday, but, a well-respected journalist and renowned Apple “hater” compared Apple’s much maligned Maps app with Waze and Google Maps, and came up with a surprising conclusion.
If you’ve been reading my articles over the past few years you’ll know that I’m not exactly thrilled with every aspect of iOS. I’ve always hated the way that apps clutter my Home Screen and hide my wallpapers, and notifications are still terrible. So, I found tweaks that enabled me to create my own app drawer to hide everything away, speed up animations, and tweak a few other things.
We’ll be hearing about supposed release dates for the next iPhone until it eventually lands in our hands. The iPhone 5S is rumored to be landing in mid-summer this year, not in September like in 2012. And there’s a possibility that the redesigned iPad 5 is ready to launch in April.
