iPhone users watch more web videos than Android users

Mobile Video Graph

According to a recent report, released by Ooyala, a majority of web videos watched by smartphones are watched on an iPhone. The study shows that iPhone users account for 67% of all smartphones watching web videos, and Android phones accounted for just 33%.

The report also compared these numbers to the worldwide marketshare for the devices, and it is surprising that iPhone users watch more videos. According to IDC, only 19% of all smartphones are iPhones, and 68% are Android devices. Since Android has such a large lead, it would be expected that Android phones would account for more video watching. With just one out of every five devices being an iPhone, the device still accounts for two thirds of the mobile videos being watched.

Which device do you use? Do you watch a lot of videos on your smartphone? Let us know by leaving a comment below!

I use Android to watch all my web videos.  The larger screen makes watching videos much easier.  I do watch some on iOS but mainly in the car where my iPod has a bluetooth connection to the car stereo.

Use both android n apple  mindoversoul First of all, "fones" isn't a word.  Secondly, even 90% of FREE Android phones still have screens that are either larger or the same size as the iPhone.  OS functionality on devices with limited hardware is subject to the device, but EVERY Android and iOS device can watch Youtube, Netflix, and movies from their respective ecosystems, which is the point of this article.  Thanks.
