Got some Philips Hue Bulbs? Ambify will use them to turn your music into a light show

I think I’m right in saying that Philips’ Hue lightbulbs were one of the most exciting accessories to be launched last year, allowing you to control every aspect of your house’s lights using you iPhone. However, the support we’ve been seeing from the app world for the bulbs has been pretty poor, with not many developers catering for those who love the concept.

Happily however, an awesome new app has just been launched by developer Kai Aras that utilizes the accessory. The app, called Ambify will turn your music into a live light show, right in your living room, or wherever else you happen to be.

Though it’ll never be an app that you couldn’t live without, Ambify is definitely a step in the right direction in terms of Philips Hue Bulb functionality, as the accessory is something that has a lot of potential that’s going to waste. Ambify intends to be a simple way to enhance your music, working with your iDevice’s library to create your light party, and also working with Airplay to make the experience a little more complete. Sadly, though, users of┬áRdio or Spotify will be gutted to hear that their favorite music service isn’t supported by Ambify.

But if you’re happy with your iPhone’s built-in music player, go ahead and download Ambify for $2.99 here.
