Next generation iPad mini rumors are all the rage right now. Up above is a rumor from earlier this week about leaked rear panels for the supposed iPad mini 2. Today’s rumor, however, has to do with the opposite side of the device – the screen. According to a report out of My Drivers, a company named AU Optronics has put 7.9-inch Retina display panels into production. The main difference between this report and one from earlier this week being that this one specifies that the displays do (at least according to sources) have a Retina display resolution, where as earlier that was undisclosed. The report also states that the estimated cost to build an iPad mini 2 is looking to be at just around $200, while the current generation’s estimated price tag is around $188. It will be interesting to see if Apple keeps the price the same even with the higher production costs, or if it will increase the price again. iDownloadBlog also brought up a good question – what will Apple do with the current iPad mini? It could be dropped in price, or dropped completely. If the rumors are true, we will know in a matter of months.
What do you think? Are you looking forward to the next iPad mini? Are you hoping for the Retina display? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.
