Polycarbonate 4.5-inch iPhone coming in 2014 for $330?

Big-iPhoneA new rumor popped up today regarding a new iPhone, however it doesn’t seem like it will be the next iPhone, only one that will come someday. That someday, which according to the rumor is sometime in 2014, will hold a new polycarbonate iPhone with a 4.5-inch display. According to Macotakara, the blog responsible for the rumor, Apple’s plans for a cheaper iPhone have been delayed until next year, and that device will become reality with this rumor. The polycarbonate shell has been rumored to be the same material Apple once used in the old “white MacBook” that was eventually discontinued. Later on in the rumor it is speculated that this iPhone will cost $330 off contract to compete in emerging markets. Rumors of a cheaper iPhone have been circulating since the original iPhone in 2007, however it finally appears that Apple may be in the position to release one in the next year or so.

What do you think? Believe that this is the cheaper iPhone? Would Apple put a 4.5-inch display in a cheaper iPhone only, or bring it to the main device as well? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.

This looks ridiculous! I prefer the size of the iPhone 4 but look of the iPhone 5. We don’t need shields for phones…

@ChaseRich95 that’s just a dumb comment. The iPhone needs to be way bigger for ppl who actually use a phone instead of ppl who just want to talk on one and show it off thinking they are big cause celebrities use it. The small screen is dumb and old time to get with the times and upgrade and add new features instead of the same old system that never changes except for the version number

@TiP_Cam That seems a bit late.
