Last week, we brought you news that suggested the fifth generation of the iPad was set to launch in October of this year with a design similar to the new iPad mini. Today, more information has come out that seems to hint at a fifth-gen iPad release sooner rather than later.
Images obtained by 9 to 5 Mac purportedly show the housing of the new iPad next to Apple’s smaller iPad mini. As you can see in the image above, the full-sized iPad is apparently going to take its design cues from the iPad mini, including the black/slate and white/silver color combinations as well as the chamfered edges and thinner body.
As of now, there’s no way to tell if these images are legitimate or not, however, they certainly do stay true to other recent rumors stating that Apple is looking to implement the design of the iPad mini in its future tablets as well.
Do you like the design of the iPad mini (and rumored fifth generation iPad) or do you prefer the old design? Use the comments below to let us know what you think.
