A broken iPhone 4S is worth as much as a like-new Galaxy S2
Do you have an old iPhone 4S? Is it smashed, or cracked all over like the one above? Don’t worry, the trade-in value is still just as much as, if not more than, a like-new Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Nexus! That is right, the trade-in value of a completely smashed (just look at the picture above) iPhone 4S comes in at around the same, and sometimes more, than a mint condition Galaxy S2 (in this example, the AT&T flavor). These statistics are coming from the popular online electronics trade-in company, Gazelle, at its CES booth. I don’t know about you, but this shows me one reason to buy into Apple’s ecosystem, as its devices retain high value.
What do you think? Does this make you feel better about buying an Apple product? Have you sold a broken device for a good amount? Let us know in the comments, or tweet me @TiP_Kyle.

I fail to extrapolate the same information as Kyle seems to. Compare, according to provided information, the cost of each device in the same quarter as the other device. It isnt for 3 quarters until the broken iphone is a similar 'value', which is 9 months. So for only 3 months a broken iphone and a new galaxy 2 are the same trade in value. Not to mention that Gazelle is primarily an Apple reseller. They focus on buying, repairing, and reselling apple products more than any others. Only recently have they started focusing on other devices more. So of course, if I had a store that primarily bought and sold apple products, I would pay more to get in desired inventory that I would for less desirable inventory. Its like being the CEO of Commercial Tire...of course I will pay more for a motorcycle tire than a bike tire, even if the initial cost of the two tires were the same.
