iPad 5 to land in March 2013? Design elements supposedly borrowed from Mini
Just when you thought Apple was done with new products for the next few months, the latest rumors emerging suggest that Cupertino’s chiefs are planning an iPad refresh – as usual – around March 2013. The 5th generation iPad (iPad 5 for sake of convenience) is allegedly going to land in early Spring.
Design-wise, Macotakara claims that it will follow along from cues given by the iPad mini.
“According to my inside source, iPad(5th) may be released in March, 2013. Source told that, design of this new iPad will be like iPad mini in detail, and be thinner and lightweight. (The expectation comes to have a small 4mm in height, 17mm in width, depth 2mm).”
That means we’ll see a slimmer bezel, and a chamfered frame. As with any rumor you should take this with the usual helping of salt. Nothing is guaranteed until Apple announces it. Although the release does fall in to the usual cycle of full-size iPads, it’s fair to say that the update in October threw the cycle book out the window.
