Have you read the title? It’s bizarre, right? And predictably, it’s all down to trademarks. A game and puzzle maker from Germany – named Ravensburger – has reportedly been threatening Apple with its trademark of the word “memory”, that’s valid in over 40 countries. The German company has been accusing Apple of violating this trademark by using the word in the title of App Store games.
Although Apple hasn’t released any official statement regarding the situation, several developers that violate Ravensburger’s trademark are being asked by Apple to change the name of their app, or risk having the game taken off of the App Stores in the countries where Ravensburger’s trademark is valid.
