The iPhone 5 launched in September, and yet Foxconn’s plants are still struggling to keep up with the numbers being demanded of them by Apple. The 6th generation iPhone is Apple’s most popular yet, with 2 million pre-orders in the first 24 hours and 5 million sold in the first weekend, everyone’s seemingly wanting to get their hands on one. It’s well documented too that the iPhone 5 is one of the hardest devices to build thanks to Apple’s painstaking attention to detail in design.
“”It’s not easy to make the iPhones. We are falling short of meeting the huge demand,” Foxconn Chairman Terry Gou said.”
It has to be said, they may be struggling, but the fact they’re keeping up at all is a huge achievement. The iPhone 4S took weeks to get back in stock at Apple stores with people lining up every day to try and get their hands on the handset.
