The 27-inch iMac has been available to pre-order for all but a few hours, and already Apple has sold out the initial shipment of its machines. Those who were hoping to get home and order their new computer ready for Christmas are no longer guaranteed the device in time, as Apple’s shipping estimates have just dipped down to 3-4 weeks for the machine.
Don’t expect to be able to pick up your desktop in early 2013 either, as supply constraints are likely to be in effect until we’re comfortably into next year, due to Apple’s complex manufacturing process for the large display.
If you’re happy with any of Apple’s new iMacs though, then you can still order a 21.5-inch model and have it on your desk in the next three days.
