When it comes to predicting when Apple will release a new, rumored product, nothing is certain until Cupertino sends out invitations to its specially selected list of major publications. While many of us were wrongly expecting the iPad mini invites to land last Wednesday, the company’s chiefs thought differently, and are keeping us in the dark. Raising anticipation? Perhaps. iPad mini non-existent? Less likely now, but still a possibility.
Reuters has re-affirmed a date we’d heard previously, and states that our favorite fruit flavored company is planning a media event for October the 23rd.
(Reuters) – Apple Inc will host an event on October 23 where it is expected to unveil a smaller iPad that will take on the less expensive devices offered by Amazon.com Inc and Google Inc, a source familiar with the matter said on Friday.
With a site as reputable as Reuters claiming what we’ve heard already, you can assume that there’s certainly something to this iPad mini speculation. The entire blogosphere is seemingly convinced that the tablet is going to be released at some point, we just don’t seem to know exactly when that will be. Stay tuned for more information. If it does happen, you can be sure that we (TiP) will be covering all the comings and goings.
