iOS 6 data leak bug not confined to Verizon
Recently, many iPhone users operating on Verizon were reporting massive charges because their devices were using cellular data, even whilst the phone was connected to a Wi-Fi network. Yesterday, a carrier settings update was released to resolve the issue. However, having fixed that issue, new reports are surfacing on Twitter suggesting that AT&T customers are also having the same problem.
Several reports like these have appeared on Twitter, essentially suggesting that the problem is not carrier-based, but rather that it stems from an issue in iOS 6. The iPhone 5 seems an unlikely culprit because problems are being reported by iPhone 4, 4S and 5 users alike.
One user reported burning through 2GB of data in a three day period, whilst apparently operating on a Wi-Fi connection. None of the parties involved in the latest data leak issue have released a statement.
Are you operating on AT&T, have you experienced any of these problems? Be sure to get in touch @TiP_Stephen
