General consensus: iPad mini slated for November 2nd release

After months of speculation, the iPad mini has gone from being a “not likely because Steve Jobs said so” to a “guaranteed” future release. If we’re to believe what we read, Apple will use its media event next Tuesday to unveil its 7.85″ creation alongside some new OS X powered gadgets.

The release date is virtually cemented in too, with several reputable blogs and online publications hearing the same information from various sources. As speculated earlier in the week, it looks as though the smaller tablet will hit store shelves on November 2nd, with pre-orders likely to be opened to the public a week prior. TechCrunch, iMore and Geeky Gadgets are all reporting that it will indeed be the case.

Although we’re pretty sure the new device will host a 7.85″ display and use similar internal components and chipsets to the iPhone 4S/iPod touch, there is debate as to whether or not it will have a Retina quality display, or have a similar resolution to the iPad 2. I guess we’ll find out in due time.

If you have any ideas as to what you think Apple will unveil on Tuesday, feel free to leave your ponderings in the comments section below, or tweet me: @TiP_Cam
