iPhone 5 launch event confirmed for September 12th – Invites sent!

Finally! Apple has just sent out invites to an event on September 12th, 2012. Although the invite is very cryptic, it’s almost certain that the event will be used to launch the 6th generation iPhone. Tim Cook and his crew will undoubtedly answer questions like: Will there be an iPad mini? Will the next iPhone have a larger display?

The invite pretty much confirms that it will be called the iPhone 5 (check the shadow beneath the “12″). Needless to say, we’ll be covering the keynote as it happens here on TiP. What are you most excited about for the media event? Leave your thoughts below or tweet me: @TiP_Cam

I gotta say, as much as I do not like Apple and know there is far more  Bark to their Bite (they advertise more than what the product really is)....I do hope they finally get something right. People are going to be hyped up over the phone even if Apple just announces a ton can with a string attached. I hope Apple at least gives them something to be truly hyped about, not a bunch of halfway stolen features from other devices and some added app that was bought from an independent developer. Actually hope they have some real innovations. Something Apple has been lacking for quite a while now. That way I don't have to listen to comments like "My iPhone has a 4" screen so its better than everyone else now" or "The new iPhone 5 will have a new faster charger so now I get the privilege of buying all new accessories to fit the port". a 4 inch screen and lte alone are not going to be enough to make this device truly innovative. They are going to need a lot more than that.

I'm excited for this device! this will be my first Apple phone. I'm still not sure which carrier to go with. I have t-mobile and since they are not getting it(and no I'm not buying an unlocked device)  i don't know who to go with. Any suggestions?

I was helping a friend recently with this.. Verizon is good but a bit more expensive than Sprint and At&t.. but if At&t limits your facetime call data.. you might want to go with one of the others.. I find that over all At&t has more options when it comes to data plans if you don't want unlimited. It also depends on which carrier you get the best signal with in your area..

@Applefangirl do you know the definition of cohesive? Granted I was auto corrected and used the wrong "there" but the statement was very cohesive. As to being negative you should grow a pair and realize its a blog and we all are here for fun, no matter what kind of fun that may be.

And I am not capable of "growing a pair" due to the fact that I am a woman.. ergo "ApplefanGIRL". Your idea of "fun" is to berate and belittle people and I want no part of that. I gave myself that name just to piss off the Android fans..LOL.. I really like Android and Apple.. I think it is just pure stupidity to degrade someone who likes one device over another. I have a Galaxy tab 10.1 and am looking forward to the Iphone 5. So.. I find all the smack talk laughable. People get really upset over someone ELSE'S choice of device is pretty hilarious to me. And I have an EXCELLENT sense of humor..so you didn't offend me. :)
