iPhone 5 gives the App Store massive boost
Reports coming from Cult of Mac are showing that the iPhone 5′s massive success has brought with it a huge boost the the app store. Already the fastest selling iPhone in history, some apps have seen download increases of as much as 700%!
Developer of fashion app Cloth reported that downloads rocketed following the iPhone 5′s release. On the day of launch, downloads were up 12%, but by September 24, downloads had climbed by an astronomical 246%.

News app Flipboard has seen download increases of 100%, whilst NimblBit has reported their game Tiny Tower has seen an astonishing 700% increase.
Also contributing to the success of the app store is its redesign, which has made the app store more fluid, convenient and user friendly. According to the developers of Hipmunk:
“The iTunes feature definitely helped, but he attributed part of the increase to the new UI of the App Store, which shows a screenshot of the product. Now users can really see that our layout and results are a visual display and that we are really different from other travel apps.”
