Want an Apple TV 3 jailbreak? Well, it may never come…

Have an Apple TV 3 (1080p)? Want it to be jailbroken? Well, for you I have some saddening news. Jailbreaker pod2g made this tweet the other day about what he knows:

The new Apple TV has been out for quite a while now, and hasn’t seen any jailbreak action. Instead, jailbreakers have stuck to the (assuming) easier to hack device, the Apple TV 2. The ATV2 has been jailbroken on all major iOS software versions, and has become a great device for multimedia consumption. The folks over at iMore say that if you aren’t interested in jailbreaking your ATV2, you may want to sell it, as the used market for the device is making it even profitable for some.

You don't have to jailbreak atv3 as long as you have a iPad or iphone jailbroken with xbmc installed and AirPlay it works just as god as atv2 I use it everyday with navi-x and all repos installed on my iPad 3 i would not pay 200 for a atv2:-)

Apple hasn't won. They will use this same setup on the Iphone 5 and future apple products. The thing is the market for the Iphone5 is much greater, so there is more of a drive to find a jailbreak than there is for the ATV3. Once they find the Iphone5 jailbreak, it will be no problem to jailbreak the ATV3.

@CR Apple - You have no idea what you're talking about, right? Do you even know WHY there isn't a jailbreak yet? The reason the iPhones/iPads can be jailbroken, is because there are many more ways in (hardware and software). The ATV3 has so little holes, or openings, that is has proven difficult. A jailbreak for the iPhone 5 won't have anything to do with, necessarily, with the ATV3.

actually you're the one that's wrong and you don't know what you're talking about. the reason behind so few holes is because of the processor in the unit which is most secure so far and will likelly be used in iphone 5 yes

@CR Apple Yeah, ONCE they find it. If the king of ios hacks can't figure it out, I doubt anyone can. I'm trading my atv3 for a 2 cause the 3 without jb, is utter shit

Gonna trade my shit atv3 for a 2, the 3 is completely useless without jailbreak, I'm in Denmark and we dont even get the Netflix and tv-shows on our menu. I know you can change location, but iTunes won't let you do anything

I guess Apple has won the battle on jailbreaking. Look forward to Apple using the same setup on future devices, now they know how to win. Gutted, as I have an ATV 3.
