iOS 6 beta 4 compatible with current RedSn0w jailbreak

You’ve probably already heard by now that Apple released the fourth beta of iOS 6 earlier today. This is good news because it means consumers are one step closer to getting the next version of iOS on their Apple gadgets. Until that time, though, only registered developers will have access to the new features offered in iOS 6.

Now, as is the case with many developers, App Store applications aren’t the only projects they work on. Jailbreak apps are also important, which is why it’s so awesome that the current version of RedSn0w (0.9.13 dev 3) can jailbreak devices running iOS 6 beta 4!

Now it’s worth noting that this really is a developer’s jailbreak, intended for devs looking to their Cydia packages so they are ready to go when iOS 6 goes public in the Fall. In order to jailbreak beta 4, you have to make use of the beta 3 IPSW file, and even once the software is jailbroken, it’ll be a tethered jailbreak and Cydia won’t even be installed.

All in all, I’d recommend passing this jailbreak unless you’re a serious developer. And while that may be a bit of a bummer, it’s awesome that the jailbreak for beta 3 is compatible with beta 4 as well because that means one less exploit is exposed to Apple which, in turn, could mean a speedier release of an iOS 6 jailbreak this Fall.
