Apple using special locking connectors for some iOS devices in stores

Apple is one company that everyone wants to have a product from. Sometimes, people resort to theft to obtain said products. Well, Apple is now taking precautions from this in its stores in the form of a redesigned dock connecter. It looks exactly the same, with the exception of a lock logo on the top of it (see picture). The workings of it however prevent it from being taken out of the device, which, of course, is the reason for the lock.

The connecter is reportedly being used throughout the US in many stores, and was first spotted by an AppleInsider reader who sent the picture in. They don’t seem to be on all the products though, but only the more expensive ones like the new iPad. This could be because they are just beginning to make them, and therefore don’t have many to use yet. Better to protect the more expensive items first. They are also believed to be alarm equipped.

What do you think? Have you seen these? If so, what store did you? Let us know in the comments.

I find these completely useless. Sure, you'd want the products to stay charged and all. But it's inevitable that someone is going to pull it out, either out of annoyance or otherwise. Plus why should they encourage their demo products to be subjected to battery abuse?

This isn't news. I've seen these connectors for months now
