Apple seeks patent for connected hearing aid
Yep, another Apple patent, but before you dismiss this one as rubbish, it actually could be of great help to those who are hearing impaired. Apple is always improving the accessibility of its products, and it seems that the innovators over at Apple HQ have decided to help those with hearing troubles by applying for a hearing aid patent. Apple is working with the idea that hearing aids aren’t always helpful, as things such as unfamiliar accents can leave the user struggling to understand words, this can make it impossible to move a conversation forward. The patent Apple is seeking is one that converts speech to text and back, this switch would remove unusual pronunciation and ensure that speech would be at a proper pace before it reaches the listener’s ear. This technology, coupled with Apple’s ambitions for iPhone-optimized hearing aids could easily mean an Apple hearing aid is in the pipeline.
Although, something that’s worth noting is the fact that most Apple patent applications either aren’t accepted or just aren’t used. So, the likelihood of this patent making its way to an Apple product in the future is pretty low, but cool nonetheless.
