Jake takes a look at Seidio’s Desktop Cradle for the iPhone 4 and 4S. It’s a great, sturdy dock that’s perfect for charging or syncing in style.
When a USB device is first connected to a USB host, the USB device enumeration process is started. The enumeration starts by sending a reset signal to the USB device. The data rate of the USB device is determined during the reset signaling.
From what I know the iPhone doesn't normally use a mini USB port (and cable) because the Apple connector is supposed to be much better. You're device should charge faster and data transfers also go faster.
If you use a dock that uses a mini USB port, don't you loose transfer speed and doesn't it take longer for the device to charge?
That's something I would have liked to hear about in the review ;)
