Rumor: AllThingsD also saying September iPhone 5 launch

AllThingsD has some interesting news to share: sources are telling them that they should agree with the current rumor of September being the launch month for the next iPhone. Here it is from them:

iMore was first to report that the company has scheduled a special event for Wednesday, September 12, and now we’ve confirmed it as well. Sources tell AllThingsD that Apple is currently planning an event for that week.

They haven’t confirmed what the focus of the event will be, but Apple’s most recent release history is most definitely making us and AllThingsD to lean toward it being an iPhone centered event. One thing that is adding to this timeframe rumor is that Apple is upping their inventory prepayment during the fall, for what is supposed to be a large fall product cycle. The rumored devices are of course the new iPhone, a new iPod touch possibly, an iPad mini, and maybe even a new iPod nano. The chart above shows the increase.

What do you think? Excited for what is hopefully going to be the next iPhone announcement? Do you think we will be disappointed? Let us know in the comments.
