Mountain Lion OS features “Do not Disturb”, iCloud tabs and Mail VIPs coming to iOS?
Apple is all about its ecosystem. The tech giant has slowly been intermingling features through its various devices for some time now. One of the most notable being the launchpad in Macbooks that mimiks iOS’ application look. Apparently it is a bit of give and take in this area according to some new information.
9to5Mac helped break the news that several new features are going to be shared from Mac OS Mountain Lion with iPhones everywhere. The next iteration of iOS is supposedly going to be receiving “Do not disturb”, iClouds tabs, and Mail VIPs.
If you don’t know what these features are, allow me to explain. Do not disturb is a feature that was previewed in Mountain Lion that allows a user to silence all notifications, including third party and badges. It’s essentially a software version of the “Mute switch”. iCloud tabs allows you to click a button and see all the tabs that are open across all your Apple devices. Last, but not least is Mail VIPs. The VIPs feature will put a star next to emails from people that you deem to be important. An added way to make sure things that need to get read, do.
These are pretty cool features, especially considering that these are ones coming from the desktop OS. It makes me that much more excited to see what Apple is going to introduce along side of them.
Are there any features you are hoping for specifically? Let us know what you would like to see in the next OS
