LG announces voice assistant called Quick Voice
If you can’t beat em…follow em? That looks to be LGs’ new motto. The tech world has been consistently slow burning in terms of voice assistant related news. Apple revealed upgrades coming to Siri at WWDC and slowly companies have been following the trend. Well right on the tail of a story that talked about Google pushing up its plans for a Siri competitor, LG follows suit by announcing their own voice assistant.
The new software, called Quick Voice, has a lot of the same features Siri and is set to be launching sometime in late July. While it’s not a huge surprise that the company decided to do this, I am surprised at how many manufacturers are starting to see this as a necessary product add on. Especially considering the fact that I have yet to see someone actually use it, aside from asking where to hide a dead body.
Personally I don’t see the need for yet another voice powered assistant. Yes, it is helpful when driving and you can’t look down at your phone, but it still feels like a novelty and not a necessity. Maybe that is just me, but I suppose if Apple does it, you can expect a lot of other companies to make their own version of it as well.
What do you guys think? Do you use Siri or know people that do? Or is it one of those features you forgot you had? Let us know down below.
