Siri0us pulled from Cydia
Earlier this week we told you guys about a new jailbreak tweak that brings Siri-like dictation to your iPhone 4, 3GS and fourth-gen iPod Touch. The tweak, called Siri0us, utilized Nuance’s voice-recognition technology to accurately transcribe speech into text. It was a cool alternative for people who wanted speech-recognition services but were unwilling to pay the money to upgrade to the 4S.
Unfortunately the developer behind the tweak, Eric Day, was forced to pull the software from Cydia after Nuance refused to sell Day the rights to use its technology. On the plus side, Day says he plans to re-launch the tweak as soon as he can find a comparable, free alternative to Nuance’s voice recognition.
For those of you who were lucky enough to download Siri0us before it got pulled, it seems it’s still functional. However, there is a chance Nuance could pull the plug, rendering the tweak useless.
