Following the handful of product announcements this morning, Apple has released iTunes 12.6 for Mac users.

iTunes 12.6 introduces a “Rent once, watch anywhere” that lets users watch rented movies across all devices running iOS 10.3 or tvOS 10.2.

Previously, users were restricted to one device when renting movies through iTunes. For example, if a user rented a movie on iTunes on the Mac, and tried to sync the movie on their iPhone or iPad, it would be unavailable until the user returned to the Mac.

A movie rented on an iOS device or Apple TV was not previously watchable on other devices and could not be transferred between them, either.

More notably, the release notes hint that we may be seeing iOS 10.3 and tvOS 10.2 released any day now as the new version of iTunes requires them to work with the new feature. A new update could be available as soon as tomorrow.

iTunes 12.6 is available as a free update and can be downloaded via the Mac App Store.
