Apple To Release New 10.5-Inch IPad As Soon As April

Following the leaks of unidentified device identifiers, Digitimes now reports that Apple has moved up the production of the 10.5-inch iPad to this month and is prepared to launch the tablet in ‘early April.’

The 10.5-inch iPad will reportedly have an edge-to-edge display, with a new virtual Home button among other upgrades. The report also says that upgrades to the 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros are also in the works.

Digitimes had previously reported that the 10.5-inch iPad would not be ready until May/June, but their latest report says Apple is on track for an April event.

The 10.5-inch iPad will reportedly be the same footprint as the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro, but will gain more screen real estate by eliminating bezels. If true, the new iPad will steal the stage as one of the iPhone 8’s major features would be eliminating bezel.

The report says a 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro upgrade is also being worked on. However, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro will be the cheaper offering in the lineup. It says that Apple will pitch the 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros as the mid-tier and high-end tablets in their lineups.
