Apple Showcases New Beats Solo3 And Pill+ Color Variant For World AIDS Day
For years, Apple has been showing its support to World AIDS Day by turning its logo red and coming up with a device model bearing the iconic color. True to its nature, the company has unveiled a new (PRODUCT)RED color variant for its Beats Solo3 headphones and Beats Pill+ speakers. Apple is calling this red color variant as “Citrus Red.”
The new color variant is not yet available but has already been listed on Apple’s website as “coming soon.” These new products enlisted under Apple’s website with a price range similar to that of the normal color variants: Beats Pill+ in Citrus Red is priced at $229.95, while the Solo3 headphones (RED) variant is priced at $299.95.
When Apple first partnered with the charity group, they offered iPods with a bright red color option. The company decided to help the charity by raising awareness and funds so that HIV/AIDS may be eliminated throughout the world. And ever since then, Apple has dedicated to providing a portion of the proceeds from sales of these devices to the global fund intended to fight the disease.
There was also a time when Apple donated a portion of the total product sales they accumulated from both Black Friday and Cyber Monday. As of this writing, Apple has donated over $100 million to the Global Fund; which has already raised $320 million.
World AIDS Day 2016 will be observed on Thursday, December 1st.
