While most believe that tomorrow’s ‘hello again’ event from Apple will be focused on the Mac, USA Today is reporting that the company will be launching a new app for the Apple TV.
The new app will give users personalized TV show recommendations and will suggest TV shows based on their existing viewing habits or content subscriptions.
The report says that the app expands the discovery options found on the Apple TV, allowing users to find shows that peak their interests. Specifically, USA Today refers to it as a ‘Watch List’ but notes that it will more than likely be called something different as it gets unveiled to the public.
The new feature may coincide with the Single-Sign On feature that was originally announced for tvOS 10 but has yet to ship. Single-Sign On simplifies the login experience for Apple TV apps by removing the need to type the same TV login credentials for all your apps, instead opting to type it in once and all other apps will be able to use it without asking for the password a second time.
Unfortunately, the feature was missing in tvOS 10 and Single-Sign On is currently listed as ‘coming this fall’ on Apple’s website.
